This is a great book for anyone interested in hydroponics - beginners to advanced. It's an especially good book for those looking to build their own systems and grow their own food.The book provides step by step building instructions for several different types of hydroponic systems. Along with the instructions are plenty of helpful pictures. It also covers the basics of the nutrients you can use for such systems as well as relevant crop information.I've been a hydroponics enthusiast and small scale hydroponics gardener for the past decade or so and have read many books on the topic. To me, this book is a must have and arguably the best of it's kind - design, build, grow! I bought this book last winter and experimented with some systems right away. Got to enjoy fresh veggies all summer and most of the fall. I had great success with tomatoes, basil, kale, green peppers, and mint!
Just got this book and all I can say is IT'S ABOUT TIME a book like this came out! I got this book for a couple of new farmers who are starting a business on my property this year. This is the perfect book for them. It covers the most important & critical information without going into too much detail, which would easily triple the size of the book and make the most important information get lost. Full of photos, step by step instructions and clear and searchable table of contents, this is a reference guide I am happy to have on our little farm. Thanks Farmer Tyler for putting out the book I've been waiting for.
Informational and inspirational for building your own setup. Took ideas from the systems in the book to build mine. Also touches on the fertilizers and such for the hydro solutions you’re feeding your plants with. Nice book for someone interested in just getting started, which is right where I’m at.
This book was a great starting point for someone with only a basic understanding of both gardening and hydroponics. It was helpful to decide the type of hydroponic system to start with and what I might expect to purchase to get started. I do wish it went a little more into the "once things are going" aspect of hydroponics, but regardless, I would purchase again.
This book has very good step by step instructions for construction of several diy systems, complete with materials lists. The material is basic, but presented well in a very attractive layout with lots of great photos. I have read many of the introductory hydro books on amazon and this one is my favorite.
I like the book as a concise starting guide in the sea of internet suggestions. This provided me a starting point down multiple paths of plant growing.
Tyler has created an excellent book for DIYers.His chapters cover the whole area with good advice and clearly written instructions for projects.If you want a broad overview this book is it!It shows how to create virtually every type of hydroponic system and goes over advantages and drawbacks of each.I am sure I will refer to it many times.
I used the book to build a strawberry hydrofarm on a section of my vegetable garden wall. I took various ideas from the book and incorporated them into a continuously running system in a four tiered gravity return Z pattern. After some hands on learning and a couple lucky guesses the system now works great.
