This is a light pop-philosophy book with some interesting ideas. I think it would be a great read for a young person with an inquiring mind who was just getting into deeper philosophical concepts.If you're into philosophy, you'll recognize a lot of ideas here and will have probably seen them explored much deeper in other difficult (and less enjoyable to read) texts. This is the reading equivalet to hanging out with a smart friend over drinks; you're not going to solve any of the universe's great riddles, but you'll point a few out.Adams sprinkles in some good old-fashioned advice that's worth paying attention to. I enjoyed that stuff best of all because it gets philsophy back to the one question that really matters, "how do you live a good life?"

I loved this book.Bought the Kindle version and read it one enthralled, introspective evening. I am a fan of Dilbert and had previously read Adams' great The Dilbert Future which veers from the expected satire of office life and nerds (Scott Adams is clearly one of us) and into the realm of technology, metaphysics, and philosophy. In God's Debris Adams' expands on some of the thoughts expressed in that book.It is important to note that Adams is not trying to persuade anybody of anything with one notable exception. This book is not about God, or religion, or science per se. This book is about critical thinking. This book is about questioning everything, especially our own assumptions. In fact, the opinions expressed here are not even his own, but are what he perceives to be the "simplest explanation" for the universe and it's mysteries as per Occam's razor.It has been days since I read this book and as advertised many of the thoughts and statements presented have stuck in my crawl. I find myself turning those concepts over and over in my mind as I eat my breakfast or commute to work. It would be an understatement to say that this book is food for thought. This is a Saturday night buffet with dessert bar for thought.If you are a thinker, someone who likes big ideas and exploring possibilities then keep an open mind and give this book a try.

Started reading this last night before bed, woke up and finished it at the coffee shop this morning. I'd read a couple chapters, put it down, pick up the debris that was blown out the back of my mind. I'd then pick up the book and start where I left off. I would love to say that this book changed the way I look at things, but it's entirely too soon for that. I will say that it gave me to the tools to change. It's now up to me to apply effort to the tools and make the change happen. I look forward to seeing things in a different light and fully intend to make use of the idea's that have spawned from reading this book. I will be passing this book on to my friends, both in the physical sense and the spreading of the idea's it has given me.

Curiosity about what THIS is all about did not strike me until I reached my 40's and at that time it was just a general, fleeting discomfort with what I thought I knew to be true. It wasn't until we lost our oldest daughter to suicide in 2012 that I began my journey in earnest and out of necessity to remain sane for the rest of our adult children. I made it my occupation to learn as much as I could about the nature of reality, life and death.In the intervening two years, I've read countless books of this nature so the 'shocking' premise of God's Debris was not shocking in the least for me. However, I do believe it has great merit for those people who're just beginning their own journey of discovery. This book is a great point at which to jump off the God Wagon that we've all been so conditioned to accept as the only ride in town. It attempts to wake awaken the consciousness by illustrating the weirdness surrounding scientific declarations proposed as truth and that is a great thing.I don't feel that this is a great fit for anyone who is very well-read on these topics and has been exposed to an abundance of progressive lines of thought regarding the nature of God. I found it well-written and enjoyable albeit very elementary compared to much of what I find myself reading nowadays.

Scott Adams changed my life.His books, writings, musings, blog and tweets changed my mind about everything I thought I knew.Scott Adams might be the smartest man in the universe.

As a student of psychology, philosophy, physics, and religion... I have pondered many of the ideas expressed in this book. However, I have never successfully linked them into a cohesive and optimistic conclusion. This book respectfully offers the reader new perspectives and ideas. I really liked that the book did not talk down to me or try to coerce me into agreement.I'm passing this book onto my dad, who is the person I enjoy theorizing with...
