I feel that if you are a pregnant teen who plans to keep your baby then this book is not for you my little sister is pregnant and i was trying to find a book for her to read to try to prepare her for what she is in for as a teen mom and the struggles of actually raising a baby finishing school and having a job I read the book and i will NOT be giving it to her the title of the book should be called my teen pregnancy with tough choices or something I'm so glad I read this first before giving it to her she could of thought by me giving her the book that I was insinuating I wanted her to give up her baby.
This journal is highly recommended. Even I, just an 11 year old, found this book/journel very interesting. This is a serious deal, that keeps hapening at ages even youmger than 16, and I love how Katie dealt with it all, and included all the difficulties of growing up, paying rent, amd finding a job. I have a whole new perspective of this and this has really helped me appreciate money and the little things. I rate this five stars.
First off the description of the book is misleading. The girl only journals a few times about her actual pregnancy and then her twins. All she journals about is her boyfriend and how she wants to please him. She gives her children away when there about 6 months old. She never cares to hear from them again. The book is a complete bummer. It also is just listening to a girl complain about her life and it reaally shows how niave and immature teens are. As a teen mom i understand growing up. She is the ideal statistic for babies having babies.
if you are a parent of a teen (boy or girl) I highly recommend this book. It takes you through the high's and low's of what this girl and her boyfriend struggle with after accidentally getting pregnant. I started reading it and have a hard time putting it down.
Considering the aim of the book, to share an experience and educate others, I feel it gets the message across well. I suggest this book to teens, who could easily fall into the same situation.
