After a few months of constant attacks of cystitis, and trying so many products (and of course countless visits to doctors office) I am finally cystitis free, all thanks to this book! I am from middle eastern background who has also lived in the UK, so I have tried literally every herbal and pharmaceutical product available from different countries, I tried Uricol (a pharmaceutical product for cystitis and preventing cystitis in the East) some Persian herbal remedies, homoeopathic products, of course cranberry tablets, D-mannose, everything that was in the market. OF COURSE I also went on courses of antibiotics but nothing stopped my cystitis from coming back. Life was so miserable for the past few months.Here is why like thousands of other women, I wasn't getting cured: I was not PREVENTING cystitis, in fact I didn't know it was possible, doctors never told me about it, curing the problem with antibiotics will only just weaken you immune system and lead to thrush and other issues, if you don't PREVENT the problem from happening, you will get cystitis like I did.I wanted to write this review so that other people can also benefit from this book like I did, you really don't have to suffer from cystitis and the prevention is actually easy!This book contains information about the only possible ways you can fight cystitis, whether its bacterial or non-bacterial. Stop the countless visits to hospitals because they will NOT tell you how to cure and prevent cystitis, they will just give you more medicine. Having suffered from cystitis my entire life and only now that I am 38 figuring out that there is a name to this chronic problem, I am very relieved to know that it is not all in my mind and research has been done on the subject of interstitial cystitis. This book has answered a lot of my questions and some that I didn't know I had! I use it as a reference book and look up new facts whenever I am plagued by a new symptom or question. IC sufferers no longer have to live in the dark and suffer alone. They can educate themselves and feel confident in taking charge of their own health. I know I do! This book is the third book I have purchased on the subject of IC and I continue to educate myself as technology and research changes.
Sanitation was not the only reason for chronic UTI. I think this book just paranoid me (Peter's wife) even more. I tried the author's way for at least 6 months, and did not work. Now, I take D-mannose from Now Foods as preventing. I am so thankful for D-mannose.
After an entire year of sexual cystitis. Every weekend. Spending several days being really sick with fever and backache. Trips to Doctors and ERs. My first bottle wash procedure and sex. I DID NOT get a uti! I'm 59 and very healthy otherwise. With a new boyfriend who I cant keep my hands off! I'm so relieved. ! Book was worth every penny!
This is an area in my body that needs a little work and care so I added this book to my library so that I can di what I can to help my health problems. Book arrived in perfect condition.
Follow the instructions PRECISELY and do not change a single thing! If you do this you can beat these UTI's! I suffered from sexual cystitis for way too long. After years of misery and one really annoyed husband I had to take control! You can beat them! Don't waste your money on cranberry juice or tablets, just read and follow EXACTLY what the book says! This book was helpful and informational but western medicine failed me for so long (this book is all western medicine) that I turned to a homeopathic/hollistic doctor which I highly recommend (do your research!). I was a sufferer of reoccurring UTI's for well over 10 years and no longer get them thanks to this type of doctor and the amazing diet and supplements he prescribed to me (not antibiotics!). My issue was mostly due to being over prescribed antibiotics and my unbalanced diet (too much sugar!). I cut out many bad things including sugar and processed foods and now eat natural, whole foods.I know there are many different type of infections and reasons people get them and this book may be beneficial to some but homeopathy worked for me. And I'm so grateful because I really did not want to bring a 2 liter bottle with me to the bathroom to "bottle wash" every time I have to "open my bowels" or before and after intercourse. Bottle washing is an extreme personal hygiene method recommended in the book to prevent UTIs. "Just you dare" miss a bottle washing, she challenges, and you'll get a UTI.In health, the body can fight off bacteria, it is not meant to be sterile.
I loved this book. It really helped me understand so many things and adjust what I was doing to making it even better.Definitely recommend it to people who have any of these problems and even if you don't it's still very knowledgeable especially about every day hygiene to prevent anything like this happen to you or anyone you know.
